That depends on you! All clients undergo an intake session that covers why you came to therapy, along with past and current life details, such as family and medical history. That will help us set a path to meet the goals that we decide to work towards. As we go through sessions together, some clients like to take notes, have homework to work on outside of sessions, or just a place to take off the weight of the expectations they are carrying. All sessions will be either 45 or 60 minutes long.

Cost per session varies with your insurance provider and potentially whether you want in person or tele-health sessions. Your best bet is to contact your insurance, however I will confirm the amount you owe when you complete the initial paperwork. If you choose to use a self-pay option, the intake session will cost $180.00, a follow up 60 minute session is $150.00 and a follow up 45 minute session is $130.00.

I do offer online, or tele-health, sessions to residents living in Virginia. There is some changing coverage on this as insurance providers shift, so I encourage you to make sure that your plan allows this. If you aren't sure, I will work with you to confirm this.

A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is a mental health professional that has completed a masters or PhD program and underwent the licensure process by the state board of counseling. This allows LPCs to diagnose and treat mental health issues that range from overcoming depression or anxiety to improving life skills, like setting boundaries or improving communication.

I don't prescribe medication and offer talk therapy sessions only. If you are seeking medication along with treatment, I can provide referrals and coordinate care as needed.

I take a wide range of insurance plans that include Anthem, Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, Optum, Sentara, and United. Insurance plans vary, even under the same parent company, so I encourage you to confirm coverage with them.
